I almost entitled this “I shouldn’t have to write this review”. Why? Well it’s not the fault of the application. ePhotos does exactly what it says it will, which is send multiple photos via email.
Setup is fairly straightforward, and after that the interface is minimal. It just launches and presents you with your photo library. Photos are selected one at a time.
The interface could be jazzed up a little, plus it would be nice to select all your photos at once. Also, you can only send to one recipient – but you can get around this by forwarding the email from your Sent items within Mail.
It’s only £0.59/US$0.99 from the App Store. But we’re still talking about installing an additional email client just to send more than one photo. What is that about? Seriously. My home screens are filling up with apps that should properly be built in to the OS itself.
This particular restriction shows up the deficiency of the iPhone in not:
- attaching photos (or any files) from within Mail
- sending multiple photos from within Photos
- allowing the user any sort of shared filespace.
Best wishes to the ePhotos developers – their app does what it sets out to do. But it’s an app that should never needed to have been written.
